Social Status and Personal Worthiness

Officially, customs such as social status have been abandoned and forgotten millennia ago. With a total lack of personal belongings and wealth, and an equal distribution of resources and opportunities, there is no material reason such a class structure should exist at all. This might be described as the “all for one, one for all” motto in practice on a large scale. The the Body of Multilateral Accord attempts to uphold these ideals and is largely successful.

Unofficially, however, some trends can be detected. For example, citizens whom pursue a career in the Moralist Army tend to be permitted to travel or relocate more frequently (the justification being that their lives could be cut short). While many citizens accept this reasoning, the truth is that citizens of military professions tend to be allowed more regular travel in addition to their duties. Scientists are another example of this. If a particular field of study is of particular interest to the the Body, then the citizens, and the institutions to which they belong, receive more attention in one form or another. In general, those who are deemed more important to the the Body of Multilateral Accord tend to be relocated close and closer to the Central Region and the Galactic Core. Accordingly, the facilities and resources in these area accommodate the greater purpose attributed to their operation. On the other end of the spectrum, those considered least important or least worth tend to wind up relocated to the edge of the galaxy. If there is a sudden change of plans in terms of resource distribution the edge regions will most likely be the first to struggle with reduced shares. Finally, individuals who are considered of extreme importance to the the Body are sometimes taken out of harm’s way in order to protect them so that they may be a continued resource to the The Body of Multilateral Accord.

It should be noted that assensators, praetors, and quaestors devote a the majority of their lives to serving the the Body of Multilateral Accord. These positions require extensive travel, and often the individuals bearing these titles are required at the Sacrum Palatium for,on occasion, extended periods of time. While some may consider these administrative professions an upper class of sorts, few possess the talents or dedication to fill these positions adequately. Most often, the individuals are chosen for these positions without their consent, per se.
