Molecular Nanofactories

A molecular nanofactory uses a large quantity of nanomachines to reconstruct the molecular characteristics of atoms. Using this technology one can transform one kind of atom into any other (with varying degrees of efficiency) via mechanosynthesis. Once this is done, the same nanomachines can then fabricate any item desired. The user must still either provide a recipe and design or write one themselves.

In addition to material resources, the molecular nanofactory has also made a significant impact on the production of energy resources. The process allows for optimally efficient nuclear energy production through the precise control of fission and fusion.

The cultural implications since the perfection of this technology has been profound. There is no longer scarcity in any form. Supplies of any and all kins can be fabricated cheaply and quickly. Sociological analysts often attribute the widespread use of this technology with the early and continued success of the Body of Multilateral Accord.
